Opening Day

The locals will tell you Christmas comes early every year in Breckenridge when the most anticipated time of the year finally rolls back into town: Opening Day! With snow in the forecast, the initial start to the 2016/2017 ski season is looking white and fluffy. Head over to Peak 8 early this Saturday (11/19) for a good spot in the lift line and break in your boots for another year out on the slopes. Afterwards, enjoy new ski films, aprés activities and a variety of other fun opening day events and festivities. Even if your legs get sore and you don’t feel like making turns all day, there’s plenty of fun to be had at Breck’s Opening Day.

Hartford Ski Spectacular

Hosted by Disabled Sports USA right here at Beaver Run Resort, this special event returns to Breckenridge for the 29th time on Saturday, November 27. With over 800 registered attendees each year, the Hartford Ski Spectacular is the country’s biggest winter sports event for people with physical disabilities. Stop by for a week of learn-to-ski activities and race programs, corporate races, youth development camps, and more. The Ski Spectacular identifies and trains disabled individuals including youths and wounded warriors, preparing them for national and international competitions.

This year, we want you to bring your family and loved ones and come celebrate Thanksgiving right here at Beaver Run Resort! Family and pet friendly accommodations mean you don’t have to leave anyone behind, and our several onsite amenities guarantee a luxurious holiday getaway. Relax at The Spa or soak in one of our hot tubs before you grab a cocktail at our Base 9 Bar and play a round of mini golf in our arcade. Leave behind the hassles of cooking and cleaning. Book a reservation for our Thanksgiving feast at Spencer’s and indulge until your heart’s content! Here in Breckenridge we look forward to a white Turkey Day each year, so get your gear ready for some post T-Day turns on Friday.

Dew Tour

This year’s Dew Tour is coming back even bigger and better than before, AND it’s moving further down the hill! That means you won’t have to hike up or ski down to catch a good seat for the show. The 2016 location on Peak 8 will make it so you can enjoy a few cocktails at T-Bar while wishing you could shred like Bobby Brown, Danny Davis or Ayumu Hirano. As one of the biggest events in extreme skiing & snowboarding showcasing the sport’s top athletes, Dew Tour is one early season event not to be missed. If you think you already get the gist after attending last year, think again: this year’s competition will include new events and team challenges, an epic concert at the Riverwalk Center and festivities at the Blue River Plaza. Head over to Breck and hop on the Gondola December 8-11.
