Take a Break from the Ski Slopes & Enjoy Breck's Other Activities

Breckenridge is known for its world-class skiing. But, when you can't get a ski reservation this season or just want to take a break from the ski slopes, here are our top 7 favorite non-ski activities in town.

Sledding or Tubing
Ready, set, goooooooo! Speed down the hill on a tube or sled. Carter Park is a locals' favorite, but there's a new hill in town. The Town of Breckenridge built a new sledding hill on Airport Road, near the free parking lot. The Airport Road sledding hill has some sleds available to borrow, but you might want to stop by City Market or other shops in town to get a sled or two. Or, pack your own from home!

Learn Something New: Art Class or Historic Tour
Take a break and take a class at Breck Create or sign up for a historic tour at the Country Boy Mine or through the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance. Downtown Breck has one of the largest historic districts in the state. While you're here, learn a little bit more.

Cross-Country Skiing, Snowshoeing or Winter Hiking
Breckenridge offers more than 30 miles of cross-country, snowshoeing and winter hiking trails with 2 nordic centers - Gold Run Nordic Center & Breckenridge Nordic Center).

Mush! Hang on for a wild ride with a pack of dogs. Dog sledding is one of the most thrilling experiences in Breck. Good Times is one of the companies offering guided tours.
