3 Reasons to Visit Breckenridge During "Secret Season"

The leaves have turned, the temperatures dropped, but the lifts have yet to begin running. It’s officially dim season in Breckenridge – that time period between early fall and opening day that brings cold weather and the first flurries of the year, all the while offering up the occasional Indian summer day. Here at Beaver Run, we like to call this time of year “Secret Season,” because it’s secretly one of the best times to visit for vacation!

Mountain Relaxation

One of the best things about visiting Breckenridge during off-season is the low-key atmosphere. From early October to mid-November, you won’t find the downtown congestion or jam-packed restaurants akin to peak season. This allows for stress-free exploration of the area with the ability to pop into a dining establishment for a quick bite without a reservation.

When you book your secret season getaway at Beaver Run, you can enjoy the same luxuries without even having to head down to town. This October and November, we’re keeping Base Nine Bar and our award-winning Spencer’s Steaks & Spirits open for your convenience. Spend a weekend lounging by your in-room fireplace, relaxing in one of our seven hot tubs and two heated pools, and enjoying our on-site fine dining experience without the crowds! And of course, don’t miss out on the Spa at Beaver Run for a holistic experience. For a limited time, take advantage of our dim season spa specials at our newly rennovated Spa at Beaver Run. Call 970-453-8757 for details or simply add on our discounted spa package while purchasing your lodging!

Big Deals and Short Waits

While it’s true that a handful of local bars and restaurants close down for shoulder season, a variety of establishments serve up delectable deals & discounts to maintain business – and we can guarantee you won’t have to wait for a table! If you’re planning your Breckenridge vacation during secret season, consider purchasing the Fall 2017 Breckenridge Dining Passport for just a $10 donation. Not only will you be granted access to the ultimate selection of two-for-ones and half off specials – your donation will help support Summit County Cares, a network of local social services that help better our community.

Fall Events

Whether it’s peak season or dim season, we like to party here in Breckenridge. That means there’s always a variety of festivals and events to experience no matter the time of year. Come celebrate the season of pumpkin spice and everything nice this fall at a variety of different events. Whiskey connoisseurs will fall in love with the Breckenridge Craft Spirits Festival, also known as Still on the Hill, a favorite fall fest offering up dozens of tastings from artisan craft distillers and fine local cuisine. November 10 brings opening day at Breckenridge, and while the Beaver Run SuperChair won’t yet be turning, we offer a complimentary shuttle ride to Peak 8 and a cozy, quiet retreat to come back to.
