Snow Sculpture Viewing Week (weather permitting): Jan. 30 - Feb. 7, 2016

Starting with a 12 foot, 20+ ton block of snow, sculptors from all over the world will compete to make the most beautiful, inspiring and sometimes gravity defying sculptures in the 2016 Budweiser International Snow Sculpture Championships. Watch the process from start to finish as sculptors work for 5 days chiseling, chopping, drilling and shaving away at the hard packed snow until a beautiful masterpiece is left. After the awards ceremony on January 30, the sculptures will remain up for public viewing through February 7. It is truly a spectacular scene and fun for the whole family! 

January 26 - 30, 2016: Sculpting Week
Sculpting begins at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26th with a gun shot start and sculpting ends on Saturday, January 30 at 10:00 a.m. The awards ceremony will be on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 29 is one of the best times to visit. Artists are preparing to stay up all night to do detail work and the atmosphere is celebratory. Why not spend a night or two and catch the whole weekend? You won't regret seeing the sculptures evolve and witnessing the awards given out

January 30 - February 7, 2016: Viewing Week (Please note that visitors are welcome to the event anytime from January 26 to February 7) 
During viewing week, the artists are done sculpting but the sculptures are here for your viewing pleasure. Weather permitting the snow sculptures will stay up until the night of Sunday, February 7, 2016 until approx. 9pm and then they will disappear under the darkness of night- just as magically as they appeared!
