Events in Breckenridge

The historic mining/resort town of Breckenridge is located two hours west of Denver International Airport via Interstate 70.

From a small mountain community captivated by the prospects of gold to a world renowned Colorado ski resort and vacation destination, the establishment of Breckenridge through the mining years provided many interconnected trails in the surrounding mountains. This trail system now serves avid cross-country skiers, snowshoers, mountain bikers, hikers and nature lovers and is widely used by locals and visitors alike. Breckenridge continues to push the boundaries of what a perfect mountain town can be. With an already impressive variety of amenities, Breckenridge will continue to write its own history laden in golden memories.

Beaver Run is located at the base of Peak 9 at the Breckenridge Ski Area just a few blocks from historic Main Street.

Located at approximately 9600 feet above sea level the climate of the area is considered to be high-alpine and receives an average snowfall of 300 inches per year.

Historic Walking Tours
In 1880, Breckenridge was home to two dance-halls, ten hotels, and eighteen saloons. A local expert will lead you through Breckenridge Nationally Recognized Historic District. See the buildings that housed these businesses, as well as the barbershop, restaurants, offices, bank and theatre. View the earliest homes in town from log cabins to stately residences. Also included on the tour are the courthouse, school and churches. Allow 90 minutes to complete the tour. Reservations are not required. Tours begin and end at the Breckenridge Welcome Center. Gold Mine Tours
The Country Boy Mine takes you under the ground 1,000 feet to see how miner’s made their millions. Try your hand at gold panning in Eureka Creek and take home some gold. Tours are approximately 45 minutes long. Drive time is 10 minutes or in the summer the hotel shuttle can take you. The tours are available year-round.
